During the fall semester of 2022, my team and I reported on the topic of special education in Oklahoma. We were able to talk about policies and organizations that help special-needs students. We highlighted the quality of special education in OK and emphasized how the state can continue to improve on its current work.
I reported on the Peer-Partners club at Stillwater High School and how it helped its students in need.
For our capstone project, my team and I reported on marijuana in Oklahoma with an emphasis on medical marijuana. We reported on how medical marijuana helped local cannabis businesses but also how marijuana enforcement laws harmed minority groups.
I was able to work on the podcast that talks about our experiences reporting on the stories as well as designing our final website look.
I had the opportunity to study abroad in Scotland during spring break in 2023. Our group visited big cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow and smaller towns such as Linlithgow, taking in the gorgeous sceneries and impressive history.
My article, found in page 45, focused on the history and background of the Scottish Highlands, a significant region for the country. With help from our tour guides and a professor from the University of Edinburgh, I was able to convey the uniqueness of the Scottish Highlands.
